Halvorsen Pike Constructors A heavy civil contractor, ready for public owners

A site for a fictional Pacific Northwest contractor that answers what DOTs, engineers and subcontractors check first: safety, bonding, past work and how to bid.

01 — Challenge

The challenge

Contractors who build bridges and treatment plants are rarely chosen from a website, but they are often ruled out by one. Before a state DOT or an engineering firm invites a bid, someone checks the safety record, the bonding capacity, the past work and whether the team has built this kind of asset before.

Most contractor websites bury those answers in PDFs or leave them out. We designed Halvorsen Pike, a fictional self-performing contractor in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, to answer every one of them in the first scroll.

02 — Solution

Our approach The solution

The design takes its language from the work: a survey-target mark, station readouts from STA 0+00 as the page loads, and a process told as stations along a line. Under the craft, it is built to be used by people with a bid deadline.

  • Safety figures (EMR, TRIR, DART, hours worked) on the home page, not in a brochure
  • A prequalification packet request and a subcontractor registration, with open bid scopes listed
  • Twelve project case studies, four markets and ten capabilities, cross-linked so an engineer finds comparable work fast
  • A five-question fit check, a 24/7 emergency line in the header, site search and an AI assistant
  • Structured data for the company, projects, news and every job posting, so the careers pages surface in job search

It runs on Laravel with Livewire and Alpine, and the team edits every page, project and opening in a Filament admin.

03 — Outcome

The outcome

Halvorsen Pike shows how we build for industries where the buyer is technical and the stakes are public money: the facts first, the craft in the details, nothing that slows a procurement officer down.

The company and its projects are invented. The engineering is real, and the site is live for you to explore.
