Reporting
Power BI
Reporting on Power BI: models, dashboards and data people actually trust.
Overview
We build Power BI models and reports on a foundation people can check, so the numbers in a meeting match the numbers in the system. Refresh, permissions and definitions are written down, not assumed.
Built with
- Power BI
- DAX
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure SQL Database
- Power Query
Work covers the semantic model, star-schema design, DAX measures with agreed definitions, row-level security so people see only their own data, and refresh through gateways or Fabric pipelines. The model and the source logic are kept in source control, so changes are reviewable.
Reports are delivered with a walkthrough for the people who use them and a handover for whoever maintains them, plus a review after the first month-end to check the numbers against the ledger. We can also take over and fix reports built by someone who has left.
Why it matters
When two teams quote different figures, the argument is about the report, not the business. One governed model with written definitions settles the numbers and gives people their reporting time back.
What we deliver
What you get.
- Semantic model and star schema
- DAX measures and definitions
- Row-level security setup
- Dashboard build and handover
Questions, answered.
Yes. We trace the measures back to source, agree one definition with finance, rebuild the model around it, and reconcile against the ledger.
Either. We build directly on your source systems, on Azure SQL or on Fabric, depending on volumes and how much history you need to keep.
Row-level security in the semantic model, driven by the user's group or a mapping table, so one report serves everyone safely.
